Life, the Universe and a couple of chickens

citychicken.co.uk

citychicken henrunHens are the ultimate urban recyclers

They consume:
  • Cooked food scraps
  • Vegetable waste
  • Slugs and other garden pests

They produce:
  • Eggs
  • Fertilizer

As a bonus they can make wonderful pets

Mabel, Doris and Pollo
I keep my hens in a small Victorian back yard in central Newcastle. Pollo, Doris and Mabel have recently upgraded from a fetching pink eglu to a spacious lilac Omlet Cube – Geordie girls are, despite what you may have heard, extremely stylish. They will soon be joined by 5 rescued battery hens.

I hope the information on this site and the story of my own 'urban recyling units', or 'The Girls' as they prefer to be called, will inspire you to keep your own citychickens.
