citychicken
Citychicken diary of two hens living in central Newcastle in a small Victorian back yard. I hope you'll enjoy following their story and that you'll be inspired to keep your own citychickens.
Sybil and Pollo live in a designer henhouse called an Eglu - Geordie girls are, despite what you may think, extremely stylish. They moved in at about 24weeks of age, what is known as 'point of lay', and started laying straight away. Sybil is the iridescent black hen with chestnut points. Pollo is the minky grey hen and her feathers really are as soft as they look.
Office politics have nothing on the pecking order in a hen run and Sybil is definitely 'alpha female'. She used to remind Pollo of this several times a day, but they have now settled down to a sisterly companionship.
